ATC's, Mini ATC's, ACC's or "moo" cards and "inchies"...

I got to play today...first time in over two weeks since I have gotten ink on my fingers...I was in heaven...LOL...My hubby gets the coolest sale magazines for greeting cards and the pictures are perfect for using in my art...All of these are made using pictures from that magazine...
These two images were perfect for ATC's...I love the woman with the pistol...and the flamingo's are just to die for...
These images fit nicely on the Mini ATC's with a nice border of color on each end...I like that look and the ink colors seem to work well with the photos...
I am just adoring these two ACC's or "moo" cards...are those cats just a hoot...and the serene lake scene is where I wish I was right now...
The images in the caty for "inchie" art are endless...oh my gosh...are some of these just too cute...I love those cats...that dog is also one of my favs...I have done him before...
I have been asked about offering a kit of just these shapes, ATC's, Mini ATC's, moos and inchies...so I am putting together a kit to have on the studio blog...Check back soon to see the new kit http://thestudioinpreston.blogspot.com

inchies can be puzzling...or not...

I lined up twelve cardstock inchies side by side...
I love collage style stamping...I chose some cool images from Innovative Stamp Creations and stamped them using Ranger inks...
I added a bit of chalking to the face...then dusted the entire thing with butterscotch ink...
I sponged the outter edges of the pieces with brown distress ink...
Oh, inchies can be so puzzling...or not...Now, isn't this a fun way to make your inchies into something playful...I have inchie kits on http://thestudioinpreston.blogspot.com/

B inchies for SSR swap Beadazzled Blossoms...

My 26 alpha inchies...the letter B on hydrangea blossom background paper sealed with Ranger Glossy Accents and Beadazzles sprinkled on for fun...
I love my tiny stamp with my name and my created by stamp I got on a sheet from Innovative Stamp Creations...

I hope you enjoyed my B inchies...

inchie art-little masterpieces book idea

I cannot wait to get my Alphabet Swap Inchies from SSR group...I am going to display them in a Skinny Minny Book...This little book is perfect for 3 inchies per page...I am already working on ideas for my Alphabet Inchie Skinny Minny Book...
Each page shows off 3 inchies...These are some of the various inchies I have made over the past few months...
They range from cardstock, chip board, glossy cardstock, fun foam and more...
I love to stamp parts of large images and even just eyes from a face...
Some inchies are just hand drawn art and simply colored in...
Some inchies even use those little thumnail photos...Remember...You are Only Limited by your Imagination...
What a perfect ending...I love that little bunny stamp...For more info email me at debbiesdiecuts@yahoo.com for info on ordering inchie kits and skinny minny books see my studio blog at http://thestudioinpreston.blogspot.com/

Inchie Ideas and Projects

This is still one of my favorite inchies...I started with a chipboard inchie, covered with hand dyed tissue paper coated with Ranger Glossy Accents and then added the beadazzles and charms into the wet medium...I may make a pin or magnet out of it...
A couple of years ago...I made inchie bracelets...These are so fun to make...I used mat board inchies, stamped and colored, then coated both sides with Ranger Glossy Accents...I used bracelet blanks from Hobby Lobby and added the inchies with jump rings...
These are one inch square blocks from the craft store, I painted each block with off white acrylic paint, sanded with brown paper bag, used various alcohol ink colors on each side of each block...then stamped all sides of the blocks using Black Document ink...
I have an inchie kit available at http://thestudioinpreston.blogspot.com/
Stayed tuned, I am working on another "inchie art project" in the studio, I hope to share this weekend...

"inchies" using my Cuttlebug Techniques...

I used a combination of metallic paints and acrylic paints on these inchies...The two bottom ones use the Layered Cuttlebug Technique I designed...The two on the top were embossed and then metallic paint applied to the raised surfaces...I do this by tightly wrapping a piece of paper towel or tee shirt fabric around my finger...and sparingly added a bit of paint, dabbing off the excess...and lightly rubbing across the raised surface...I added some gold to the bird one...
Same inchies, just different lighting to better show the effects of the techniques...These really take on the look of metal, especially after adding a thin coat of sealer of your choice...I use Plaid Royal Coat Decoupage Medium...it stays on my work table...so its always handy...More experiments coming later this week...I got in new rubber from Innovative Stamp Creations today and new dies coming later this week...and I ordered 3 more dies today...yeah...more creative ideas and samples coming soon...

"inchies" with Faux Metal Patina Verdigris Effect

I just had to play with my patina technique on some inchies...I love this...they really look like little metal pieces...I started by painting the one on the left with patina colored acrylic paint, then when dry, I embossed in my Cuttlebug embossing folder, then used black ink to color the raised areas...the inchie on the right...I embossed then rubbed the patina colored acrylic paint over the embossed area...I spattered each with some black ink using a Marvy marker and my spritzer, then added some gold paint with a scrunched up piece of saran wrap...I brushed a light coat of Plaid Decoupage Medium over each inchie...to give a bit of sheen to the faux metal patina technique I created...check out my studio blog for a new inchie kit and more kits I have to offer http://thestudioinpreston.blogspot.com/

Debbie does ATC's, Mini ATC and "inchies"

The pages from those greeting card magazines are awesome for ATC, Mini ATC and "inchie" art...My hubby gets lots of junk mailings and I raid his trash can occasionally...LOL...actually, its gotten to the point he says, do you want this before I throw it away...he is such a good hubby...
I just loved this card front ad and the torn look works great on this ATC...the background on the ATC was painted off white acrylic paint, sanded smooth, then Ranger Alcohol Ink and Copper Metallic Mixative was used to color the ATC...
I think the Mini ATC's are just awesome...smaller in size than an ATC...they are 1.5 x 2.5...I used my distress pads to add color to the chipboard Mini ATC's...then glued on the trimmed down pictures...
So many of the card ads are perfect in size for "inchies"....these were so much fun to make...I used chipboard, cardstock and glossy with AI backgrounds for these "inchies"....
There is so much variety with these types of ad magazines...I just love the animals I used here...

More "inchie" fun today

These were some fun "inchies" ...First I cut some of my 7/8th scalloped punch shapes from tissue papers...one with the little girl and one with the snowman...I show you how in the tutorial post after this one...The liberty and the geisha were then made from the paper layers...I stamped the white layers with black ink, the geisha I colored using Zig markers and the liberty postal image I colored with butterscotch Adirondack ink, then used Vintage Distress ink to color the background inchie and darken the edges of the scalloped layer...These inchies were fun to make...
Closer Look...I wanted to show the detail of the "inchie"...the layer is glued on using Royal Coat Decoupage medium, then after the layer is dry, I put a thin coat over the entire "inchie"...I just use my finger to apply it...
These "inchies" are diverse in surfaces and backgrounds...the yin yang is done on glossy AI background, then the yin yang is coated with Glossy Accents...The next "inchie" is fun foam, heated, then stamped with an image, inked up with black document ink...after it was dry, I gave the surface a quick coat of Ranger Glossy Accents and added a few Beadazzles to one corner...the next one is white sided thin chipboard, coated with Adirondack Acrylic paint...then a tissue paper inchie layer over the the top...
Closer Look---this is the fun foam inchie up close...you can see the detail in the fun foam...Hope you enjoyed my "inchies" today...

Surfaces to get "inchie" layers from

These are just some of the options for "inchie" layering pieces...Tissue papers, pattern papers, wrapping papers...I found this package of Christmas tissue paper and there are oodles of these angelic faces on each sheet...I even found a piece with teddy bears...I will be sharing these with "inchie" kit orders too...

Punching "inchie" layering shapes-Tutorial

Ever wanted to punch a shape from tissue or gift wrap or similar thin paper...and this is what happens...it gets hung up in the punch and gets ruined...well, I did this one, to show you what to do to keep this from happening...
and then I got these two photos posted wrong...so go down to the next photo...then do this...then slip in your tissue paper, wrapping paper, mulberry paper, etc...and then punch it out...
Slip a piece of copy or computer printer paper into the punch...
You will get a perfectly punched shape every time...and you get a white copy paper shape that can be used as well...

"inchies"---yes, I am an addict...

This is an assortment of Alcohol Ink "inchie" backgrounds...you can order "inchie kits" from my studio blog http://thestudioinpreston.blogspot.com/
I absolutely love round "inchies"...These are both alcohol ink backgrounds, stamped with black document ink...snowman was colored using Zig markers...
A diverse group of "inchie art" I have made lately...Can y'all tell, I am kinda sorta...ADDICTED to these little things...

This group of "inchie art" shows a variety of surfaces and things I do to create my inchies...the first one, is thin chipboard with mulberry paper layered over it, then some pattern paper cut up and layered onto that...The second one is patterned cardstock, stamped directly with black ink and trimmed with black marker, I added some gold fabric paint for the flower center...The next inchie was AI base with pattern paper torn layer then stamped with black ink, trimmed with copper metallic marker...The flamingo was Adirondack acrylic paint, with flamingo decoupaged onto surface and word stamped in black...the next two "inchies" are in a tutorial before this post...
Email me for more info or if you have any questions...I am always happy to help...

"inchies" with photo scraps

I love working with left over pieces of photos I have used in my scrapbooking...and I love working with the Alcohol Ink backgrounds I make...I used my scalloped edge 7/8th inch punch to create my photo layering shape...then attached it to the AI inchie background...
I then cut a few words from a magazine page to layer over this...Perfect little floral inchie...

"inchies" Tutorial 1

I have joined a "vintage Christmas" inchie swap...I have a magazine with lots of vintage images...perfect to use in this swap...I like the idea of a framed effect...so I use my 3/4 inch punch, turned upside down, so I can center the image in the "window" and punch my shape...
This images I used are from an ad in the magazine for return address labels...they are perfect little images for making this type of inchie art...
I use Royal Coat Decoupage medium to attach my magazine layer to my cardstock inchie base...
using my favorite tool....LOL...there are lots of us that use our fingers more than other items when creating our art...
I put a small amount of the deco med on the backside of the inchie layer and then center it onto the cardstock base inchie...it dries almost instantly...

"inchies" Tutorial 2

This is one of the brands of gold markers that I use to edge my pieces with...I use a variety of brands...this one just stays on my table...
The fine gold line, or edge, just seems to add a more finished look...almost like a frame around the piece...
I use Glossy Accents from Ranger as a multi purpose glue for attaching stuff to stuff...LOL...it bonds permanently, dries very fast and holds with a very small amount needed...I use it to attach ribbon, beads, buttons, all sorts of embellishments...
I added the strip of gold ribbon to this "inchie" and it made such a dramatic difference...

Makin' "inchies" Tutorial

This shows some supplies used...I used a colored cardstock base inchie, a pattern paper inchie-torn, and a round inchie cut in half...I used Ranger Distress ink to add aging to the pieces...
The torn pattern paper inchie layered onto the cardstock base inchie, then the half of the round inchie layered over this...
Then I used a thin line of Ranger Glossy Accents down one edge of the "inchie"
and sprinkled on Beadazzles...set aside and let it dry...its a really nice "inchie"...

Vintage "inchie" art from a catalog

Oh my gosh...were these fun to make...I got this Victorian style catalog...and lo and behold...its awesome...One page had these little round shapes, perfect for layering onto my round "inchies", which I just love...I used my Royal Coat Decoupage Medium to glue the magazine cut outs to the cardstock "inchies"...then used my gold metallic marker to trim the edges...
I do not have a circle punch yet, the size I need for layer...but I do have this scalloped edge square punch that is 7/8th of an inch, perfect for layering onto the square "inchies"...I turn the punch upside down, find the part of the shape I want, then punch it out...
See how many more shapes I will get to use, just from a small section of this catalog...
These are the other round shapes that are left to be used...
Are these cool or what...I only had 15 minutes to throw these together today...but wait until you see what else I have in the works...

These "inchies" are done on glossy cardstock using the Alcohol ink background and stamped with Stazon ink...All images are from Innovative Stamp Creations new Inchies Art sheet...I trimmed each inchie with Copper metallic pen...
